Mail Merge for Gmail and Sheets
Mail Merge for Gmail and Sheets by DocGPT.ai is a Google Sheets™ add-on that sends personalized emails from your own Gmail account, one separate email for each row of your sheet. It writes a status such as EMAIL_SENT next to every recipient and can track opens and clicks. Scheduling and per-recipient attachments come with paid plans, and new users get 11 free emails to start.

Key facts
- Works in: Google Sheets. You write the email as a Gmail draft and start the campaign from the sheet. A small Gmail side panel only explains the steps; sending always happens from Google Sheets.
- Sends from: your own Gmail or Google Workspace account, one email per recipient. You can set a sender name and a reply-to address.
- Personalization: placeholders like
{{First Name}}in the subject and body are replaced with the matching column of each row. - Tracking: opens and clicks, shown as statuses in the sheet. Replies, bounces and unsubscribes are not tracked in the current version.
- Daily limit: set by Google, not by the add-on: about 100 recipients a day on a free @gmail.com account and 1,500 on Google Workspace. See Gmail sending limits.
- Free: 11 free emails to start, with open and click tracking, test emails and Google Contacts import. Free emails carry a small “Sender notified by Mail Merge for Gmail” footer.
- Paid plans: from $4.99 a month. They remove the footer and add scheduling and personalized attachments. See Plans and billing.
