Why it happens

The message comes from Google, not from GPT for Sheets™ Docs™ Forms™ Slides™. You are signed in with a work, university or school Google Workspace™ account, and your organization’s administrator has restricted which Marketplace add-ons can run. Common reasons:

  • Your organization only allows add-ons from an approved list (allowlist), and GPT for Sheets™ is not on it yet.
  • The add-on is blocked or not configured under the organization’s API controls.
  • In Google Workspace™ for Education, accounts marked as under 18 can only use apps that the school has approved.
  • The add-on was installed earlier, and the organization’s settings changed later.

Reinstalling the add-on does not help. Only your administrator can turn it on.

What you can do

  1. Forward the email below to your IT administrator. It contains everything they need. It takes them about two minutes.
  2. Teachers: you can ask your school administrator to approve the add-on for your account or for your students.
  3. If your organization allows it, use GPT for Sheets™ with a personal Google account instead.

Steps for the administrator

You need to be a super administrator of the Google Workspace™ organization.

Option A: Admin install (recommended)

  1. Open the GPT for Sheets™ Docs™ Forms™ Slides™ Marketplace listing.
  2. Click Admin install, review the data access, and choose who gets the add-on: everyone, or specific organizational units or groups.
  3. Click Finish. The add-on appears for those users automatically.

Option B: Add the app to the allowlist

  1. In the Admin console, go to Apps → Google Workspace Marketplace apps → Apps list.
  2. Click Allowlist app, search for GPT for Sheets Docs Forms Slides (App ID 466607203252) and select it.
  3. Choose the organizational units or groups that may use it and save.
  4. Check that Marketplace settings allow users to install allowlisted apps.

Also check API controls

  1. Go to Security → Access and data control → API controls → Manage App Access.
  2. Make sure GPT for Sheets™ Docs™ Forms™ Slides™ is not set to Blocked.
  3. If your organization blocks unconfigured third-party apps, click Configure new app, find GPT for Sheets™ Docs™ Forms™ Slides™, and set it to Trusted or to the access your policy requires.

Google Workspace™ for Education: for users marked as under 18, apps stay blocked until they are allowlisted or installed by an administrator, and the school is responsible for any required parental consent.

If the app shows Partially granted after an update, open it in the Admin console and click Grant access. Changes can take up to 24 hours to apply.

I’d like to use the Google Workspace Marketplace add-on “GPT for Sheets™ Docs™ Forms™ Slides™” by docgpt.ai. When I open it, Google shows: “You do not have access to this Addon. Please contact your Organization Administrator for access.”

Could you enable it for me (or for my team)? Either option works:

  1. Admin install: open https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/app/gpt_for_sheets_docs_forms_slides/466607203252 , click “Admin install” and choose my organizational unit or group.
  2. Allowlist: Admin console → Apps → Google Workspace Marketplace apps → Apps list → Allowlist app → search “GPT for Sheets Docs Forms Slides” (App ID 466607203252).

Please also check that it is not blocked under Security → Access and data control → API controls → Manage App Access.
