Privacy Policy for Aesthetic Countdown Widgets

This Privacy Policy explains how Aesthetic Countdown Widgets (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) handles information when you use our iPhone, iPad, widgets, and Apple Watch app experience.

We designed Aesthetic Countdown Widgets to be privacy-friendly. Your countdowns, themes, and widget settings are intended to stay on your device. We do not run analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs, or external user profiling inside the App.

1. Overview

Aesthetic Countdown Widgets lets you create countdowns, count-ups, and timers and display them as Home Screen, Lock Screen, and Apple Watch widgets across 8 designer themes (Lite, Type, Swiss, Grid, Bars, Y2K, Pixel, and Arcade). The App primarily stores and processes your data locally on your device.

The App does not require an account, sign-in, or cloud profile to work.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information stored locally on your device

The App may store the following information locally so it can function:

Event titles and notes
Emoji and icons you assign to events
Start and target dates
Timer and recurrence settings
Sort order and archive state
Theme and appearance settings (selected theme, color, font style)
Widget customization settings
Optional background image data you choose for a theme
Local app preferences such as notification settings

This information is stored on-device using Apple’s local app storage technologies. It is also shared locally with the widget extension and Apple Watch components through Apple’s App Group container so your widgets and companion experiences can display the same events.

2.2 Information we do not collect

We do not collect, transmit, sell, or process the following:

Your name, email address, phone number, or account credentials through the App
Analytics or behavioral tracking data
Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
Crash analytics or telemetry
Contact lists
Location data
Browsing history
Health, motion, or biometric data
Photos you did not explicitly choose
Your countdown content on our servers

3. Permissions and Device Access

3.1 Notifications

If you choose to enable a reminder for an event, the App may request permission to send local notifications. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device by iOS so the App can remind you when a countdown reaches its target.

If notifications are enabled, iOS may locally process limited event information such as:

event title
emoji or icon
scheduled date and time

We do not use notifications for advertising or third-party marketing. No notification content is transmitted to us.

3.2 Photos

If you choose to add a background image to a theme, the App uses Apple’s system photo picker (PHPicker) so you can explicitly select a single image at a time.

Important details:

We only access the image you choose, never your full photo library
The selected image is stored locally on your device for theme and widget rendering
We do not upload the selected image to any server

Aesthetic Countdown Widgets includes Home Screen widgets, Lock Screen widgets, and an Apple Watch companion that need access to your saved events and theme settings.

To make this work, the app and its extensions use Apple’s App Group shared container — local device storage provided by Apple so related app components can access the same data on your device.

This sharing is limited to your own Apple device environment and is not a cloud sync service operated by us.

5. iCloud

If you are signed into iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, your event data may be backed up and synchronized across your own Apple devices via Apple’s iCloud service. This synchronization is performed by Apple, governed by your Apple ID, and your data is never visible to us at any point.

6. Purchases and Apple Services

If the App offers in-app purchases or subscriptions, payment processing is handled by Apple, not by us. We do not receive your full payment card details.

Apple may process information related to:

your Apple ID
billing and payment
transaction receipts
subscription management

7. Data Processing and Storage

The App is designed so that your event data and customization data remain local to your device.

We do not operate a backend service for storing your countdown events. Please note:

If iCloud Backup is enabled on your device, Apple may include app data in device backups under Apple’s own policies.
If you use widgets, iOS may cache rendered widget content locally on your device for performance.

8. Third-Party Services

Aesthetic Countdown Widgets does not include third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or user-tracking frameworks.

The App relies exclusively on Apple system frameworks and Apple platform services, such as:

WidgetKit and ActivityKit
SwiftData and Apple’s local storage APIs
UserNotifications
PhotosUI system picker
App Store / StoreKit, if purchases are offered

We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose your personal data to data brokers, advertisers, or third-party marketers.

Because the App is designed to function locally, we generally do not receive your countdown data in the first place.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

Your app data remains on your device until you:

delete specific events
remove selected images
reset the app’s local data from within the App
uninstall the App from your device

If you uninstall the App, local app data is typically removed by iOS, subject to Apple’s device and iCloud backup behavior. To delete data synchronized to iCloud, sign into iCloud.com or your device Settings and remove the App’s data from iCloud.

11. Children’s Privacy

Aesthetic Countdown Widgets is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age. Because the App does not require accounts and is designed for local-only use, no personal information is collected through the App.

12. International Users

If you use the App outside your home country, the App still follows the same privacy model described here: local-first storage, no in-app analytics, and no server-side storage of your countdown content by us.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Last updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.

15. Apple App Review Compliance Summary

For clarity, in line with the App Store Review Guidelines:

Aesthetic Countdown Widgets does not require account creation
Aesthetic Countdown Widgets does not include third-party tracking or advertising SDKs
Aesthetic Countdown Widgets stores countdowns and theme data locally on-device
Notifications are optional and delivered locally by iOS
Photo selection is optional and limited to images you explicitly choose via Apple’s system picker
Widgets and companion extensions access shared local data using Apple’s App Group container
iCloud synchronization, when used, is operated by Apple under your Apple ID
